Over the past hundred years, scholars have attacked the historical truth of the Gospels and argued that they were originally anonymous and filled with contradictions. In The Case for Jesus, Brant Pitre taps into the wells of Christian scripture, history, and tradition to ask and answer a number of different questions, including: If we don’t know who wrote the Gospels, how can we trust them? How are the four Gospels different from other gospels, such as the lost gospel of “Q” and the Gospel of Thomas? How can the four Gospels be historically true when there are differences between them? How much faith should be put into these writings? As The Case for Jesus will show, recent discoveries in New Testament scholarship, as well as neglected evidence from ancient manuscripts and the early church fathers, together have the potential to pull the rug out from under a century of skepticism toward the apostolic authorship and historical truth of the traditional Gospels.

“biblical evidence” - not valid.
Historical evidence - too far back to mean anything when we live in a world where shakespeare is disputed as the author of hamlet.
Ultimately its just another god bothering circle jerk. Woo.

More hot garbage!

Religion is just myth and superstition. A giant waste when time should be spent on constructive pursuits that are REAL!
If god is all-powerful and all-knowing why does he always need more money???

“So they trust in the deity of the Old Testament, an incontinent dotard who soiled Himself and the universe with his corruption, a low-budget divinity passing itself off as the genuine article. (Ask the Gnostics.) They trust in Jesus Christ, a historical cipher stitched together like Frankenstein’s monster out of parts robbed from the graves of messiahs dead and buried - a savior on a stick. They trust in the virgin-pimping Allah and his Drum Major Mohammed, a prophet-come-lately who pioneered a new genus of humbuggery for an emerging market of believers that was not being adequately served by existing religious products. They trust in anything that authenticates their importance as persons, tribes, societies, and particularly as a species that will endure in this world and perhaps in an afterworld that may be uncertain in its reality and unclear in its layout, but which states their craving for values “not of this earth” - that depressing, meaningless place their consciousness must sidestep every day.”

I don’t think there are many people doubt that a man claiming to be the messiah of the Jews rose to prominence during the reign of Tiberius and was executed by the Romans for his troubles.
Everything else however is speculation and myth.

Even the trolliac maniacs are showing their gratitude - in the only way they know how.

What I find strange is that there was no-one calling out the book about a Chinese goddess uploaded last week but as soon as it’s Chrstianity it’s like a field day for the ‘tolerant’.

@Skulloamania - You may have uncovered yet another slight flaw in their ass-ertion of tolerance. I could be way off course of course, but I’m beginning to suspect that the tolerance thing may have been sorta contrived. A false flag of convenience, to disguise the blatant bigotry.
Criticising all equally would take at least a small measure of consistency, honesty, thought, and functioning intellect. And they’re never at home to Mr Intellect (see above screeching diatribes).

thanks for the upload! Why would something that doesn’t exist, have no meaning or purpose consume so much energy from those who claim to be so intelligent and enlighten. Wasting thought, energy and anger on something that doesn’t exist is just punching the wind. If religion is a myth and God doesn’t exist then what are you so angry about? Try a little logic once and a while. To be 100% certain that there is NO all seeing all knowing God running the universe one would have to be all knowing and all seeing. Why would anyone seek to destroy a belief system who’s principle foundation is to love God with all your heart ,love your enemy more so than yourself ,do good to those that hate you? If you think thats easy try it.”BE OPEN MINDED” right?

No more seeders? If I had this I would seed for a year. It is that good. Also… I don’t believe in unicorns but I don’t go angrily trolling all things unicorn; think about that for a second.

Why are there so many books about “Proof Jesus actually lived.” I thought faith meant that you didn’t need proof, you believed because…..”you had faith?” Seems like a lot of “believers” going around trying to convince and reassure one another to me.

Well, that’d be blind faith, Eddie. Rational faith or informed faith stands athwart such fideism. When we have trust in our partner, or faith in our friends, we do so also on the basis of reason. Faith is fundamental to life, as we know. We reason on the foundation of existence & revelation. We have faith in objective truth, which is why we rationally seek it, in our lives, in science, in scholarship, etc. When the Church created the university during the Middle Ages, a valued motto was “faith seeking understanding” (fides quaerens intellectum), from St. Anselm. And doubt is a component of the process.
The concept is rooted in the theological method established by Augustine, who observed that knowledge of God comes before faith, but faith in God brings a constant desire for understanding. The motto serves as a reminder for Christians to engage both their hearts and minds in the pursuit of knowledge about God.
