We all have questions about Jesus, but very few of us get the answers we’re looking for–if the answers even exist! Do they? Where (in heaven’s name) do you go to find out? New York Times bestselling author Eric Metaxas understands how hard it can be to get hard truths, and that’s why he is writing this hilarious, entertaining guide to the most influential single Person to have ever lived on the face of the earth. Like his previous books in this style, Everything You Always Wanted to Know About God is a book that takes questions about the Son of God seriously enough to get silly- where appropriate. Metaxas covers questions about Jesus’ life -Did He live at all?-, His death -If He truly was the Son of God, why did He have to die?-, His resurrection -Did Jesus really come back after death?-, and much more. Apologetics has never been so much fun!

Hey God, ummm why is the male G-Spot up my ass?
Thanks, talk to you soon.

@Sauser! That’s so you can resist the temptation, to experiment with sturdy cucumbers and such. Character forming, and so forth. I’m not sure whether the author hits on the G-Spot issue, or if it’s ever been fingered (indicated, I mean!) in a serious theological debate.
Thanks again, rmoor, Metaxas is brilliant.

Thank you! Cheers.

lol “The author of the piece, Eric Metaxas, is not himself a scientist. Rather, he’s a writer and a TV host, and the article was a not-so-thinly-veiled attempt to resurrect the notion of intelligent design, which gives religious arguments the veneer of science—this time in a cosmological context.”

Bad form, andy, you failed to mention that you were quoting the noted dirtbag and sexual harassment sleaze, Lawrence Krauss. Several women have accused him of sexual misconduct, describing behaviour that went unchecked for over a decade. He’s been banned from three universities, removed from multiple speaking events, and is under a formal investigation by Arizona State University, his primary affiliation.
Not a “man” much taken with the notion of objective moral values, for all sorts of reasons. Oh, yeah - lol. The perils of not relying on your own arguments - you should, it’s great practice.

Lol ” Metaxas is brilliant.” If brilliant=debunked, you’re right Caligula.
If bloviated verbosity is an argument, then fair play to you.

andy, you might want to give this a read (listen). A lot’s happened in the last twenty years. Science.

For some reason, you’re not addressing the sexual harassment elephant in the argument? You can’t just go round cheerfully quoting people like Krauss, Jimmy Saville, Jeffrey Dahmer, or whoever else, like sexual sleaziness and rape ain’t no thing (naturally, Caligula would occur to you - yet another depraved role model?). And then you go and hide behind another link, I despair of you, I really do. And the definition of debunked is not: some (rapist) proposes a counter-argument.
I was about to compliment you at least for “bloviated verbosity” but then I realised that you probably stole that from someone else as well! Give it back - and more originality in future. Evidence of (at least) some independent thought.

@shanauri - I’m afraid that the link won’t do it - some rampant, serial-deviant will have to encapsulate it in a one-paragraph review, then you could provide a link to that. What’re the odds that just such a “debunking” review is furiously being sought, right now? Only emotionally acceptable scientific data will be permitted…

“For some reason, you’re not addressing the sexual harassment elephant in the argument?”
So, let’s say, a sexual predator discovers a new planet. Using your logic, their findings must be dismissed. You’re hiding behind this of course.
Don’t despair of me. The overblown ramblings of a sanctimonious windbag means little to me.
Oh, and you’re at it again. Telling people what to do. No chance.
I’m sure you think you’re a legend, patronising people on an audiobook forum. You keep deluding yourself.
You did make me laugh when wrote “Lovely stuff!”, about serial pseudoscientific loon, Graham Hancock’s book. So thanks for that.
You prsent yourself as a master of critcal thinking, when really you just laud things that support your narrative.
Have a good moan in your reply, it will stroke that enormous ego. I won’t be reading it though. I find your waffle boring.
April 29th, 2019
Stephen C. Meyer creationist? Don’t make me laugh.
April 29th, 2019
Oh, you know I don’t believe that for an instant - you’ve already desperately admitted to seeking out my comments on other uploads (rofl!). Do you think then that being a rapist or abuser actually helps, or that it is morally neutral? Scary.
So this Graham Hancock chap you know so much about, is he worse than an actual rapist, in your superlative ethical code?
I never said that I was a legend, of course - you did.
What, no debunking link which debunks the original link? Perhaps a link to a definition of “debunk” is in order…
April 29th, 2019
Uh oh, shanauri - he must’ve consulted the scientific sex offenders’ register and obtained a “review” or at least read about some pervert with an emotional grudge against Meyer.
April 29th, 2019
So, when I told you to think for yourself and to develop your own independent arguments, you responded “No chance.”
The lol’s just keep on comin’
This is unfair, I really shouldn’t.
